Constance Mila Rupel “Connie”, 82, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away peacefully the morning of May 24, 2019 with her family by her side.  She was born on May 30, 1936 to Edward and Mila Cisco in New Kensington, PA. Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie (Bill) Conaway and her son, David Charles. Connie is survived by three children Keith (Robbie), Robert (Eileen) and Tammy (Greg) Smith along with 12 grandchildren ages 12 – 27.

Connie was a life long elementary school teacher with a passion for education and ensuring all children had an opportunity to learn and grow. During her teaching career, she was fortunate to be part of the education of over 1,000 children.  In 1987, she was honored as teacher of the year for Harrison Elementary School in South Bend, IN, a recognition that she took great pride in. Upon her retirement she moved to the Indianapolis area and was a very active volunteer at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.

Connie loved to travel with family and friends and completed most of her bucket list trips including personal trips with 9 of her 12 grandchildren; these trips framed many of the memories and stories that create joy in our eyes.  She traveled to South America, experienced an African safari, toured Europe,  hiked many National Parks, saw many waterfalls, rafted the Colorado, saw Disney with every family and was even bitten by a piranha.   The life she built was founded on making time for her family and simply being part of their lives. We are blessed to have had her as a mom, grandmother and friend.  Rest in peace Momma.

A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00pm on June 1, at 13610 lake ridge lane  Mccordsville, IN 46055

I wanted to send my love and condolences to the Rupel family. I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the beautiful hope promised in God’s Word, the Bible. John 5:28,29 says, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” What this can mean for you personally is the hope of being reunited with Constance once again in a beautiful paradise on earth. (Revelation 21:4,5)

I will always remember Aunt Connie as being fearless, funny, happy, caring, comforting, encouraging, exuberant, joyful….her spirit and soul were amazing and an inspiration to me personally and shines in each of you and all your children…I wish I could be there today as you all were when my mom passed, but know I am with you all in my prayers and remembering her joyfully in my own memories of her today. God bless and keep you all as she joins my mom and David…she will be smiling and laughing along with you all today as you remember and celebrate her being in your lives…
